The Queensboro Dance Festival is programmed to represent a strong, diverse range of cultural and contemporary dance cultivated in Queens.  Choreographers and dance groups of various cultures and techniques, dancers with disabilities, and integrated dance groups are all welcome to apply.  BIPOC-led and/or BIPOC-majority dance groups are also strongly encouraged to apply.
As a guide during the application, please refer back to the Apply/FAQs page on our website, and we invite you to attend our final Zoom info meeting on Tuesday March 28, 6:30-7:30pm. Meeting registration required at least 1 hour in advance to receive Zoom link.

Suggested choreographic prompts
We want to uplift your dance works, but as a nod to the Queens' arts & culture, public spaces, and celebrations we will be a part of, here are some suggested prompts we welcome you to incorporate into your work.  These are suggested and NOT required:

  • Hip-Hop 50th Anniversary
  • Queens Pride
  • Juneteenth
  • Lewis Latimer (in partnership with the Lewis Latimer House in Flushing)
  • Louis Armstrong
  • Happenings or history of your Queens neighborhood, or summertime in Queens

Also inside the form:

  • Mandatory dates
  • Requirement to upload video file (no online links) of your proposed dance work, updated resume, and high-res company or choreographer photo

We estimate it will take about an hour total to fill the form, review the dates, and upload your video work sample. You can save your progress and come back to your form later if needed. We strongly suggest you always take a final look at your submission to make sure you selected the correct dates and spelled everything correctly.

If submission forms are incomplete or do not follow format requirements, they may be disqualified.

Thank you for your interest in joining the QDF community and 2023 tour -- our 10th anniversary season!
